KEMNAY YOUTH 1 BLACKBURN 4
AAFA Division Two East
Saturday 7th March 2020
Bogbeth Park, Kemnay
Ref – C Auton
A strong second half showing from Blackburn saw them dismantle Kemnay Youth to win comprehensively, ensuring they stay in the thick of the race for Promotion to Division One.
After Blackburn’s 5-2 win against Kemnay Youth two weeks ago, Johannes Jaka made several forced changes to his starting XI, Jake Stephen moving to the bench and making way for the return of Josh Cranham. Fabian Ozag also returned to the team replacing suspended Craig Johnston and Nathaniel Anderson making his debut in goals.
Blackburn were the first to threaten, Milne picking up a poor kick from the Kemnay goalkeeper inside the home half. His low shot was just calmly sent passed the advancing keeper to give the visitor’s an early lead.
The visitors had the game’s first corner in the 26th minute, a lofted corner routine that found a Kemnay head, the ball headed away only as far as Jaka who smashed a driven shot over the bar.
HALF-TIME: KEMNAY YOUTH 0 BLACKBURN 1
The second half started scrappily but things soon livened up, Blackburn dominated possession from the restart without generating any clear-cut chances. Jaka acknowledging his side were far from the outstanding levels they’ve set themselves over the past few months.
Much of the play was still taking place at the other end though and the Kemnay defence were pushed hard. the visiting side added further goals through McLernon (header) from another corner, Cunha and Milne with his second of the game.
A poor display from Blackburn on the day but a vital 3 points earned with Promotion the main goal for the season.
