Jake Stephen is set to miss the remainder of the season with spiral fracture in 3 places. Stephen is set to see his campaign end prematurely after sustaining the injury during a charity 5 aside tournament at Strikers this week.
The right back was forced off after a body check from an opposing player and then landed awkwardly, Stephen underwent a scan on Friday where the full extent of the injury was confirmed. Stephen said ” some **** body checked me, sent me into the ball and landed on my hand, first break then elbow and over. 2 breaks and a spiral fracture, that’s my season over! Laughing gas is a wonderful thing.”
Initially, Jaka said “Just a wee scratch, a bit of football magic water and sponge…possibly some freeze spray and you good to go for 90mins!”, however, the boss has now confirmed he will be out for the remaining games this season. Jaka confirmed Stephen had now been discharged and would undergo further medical examinations to determine when he can think about a return to action.
It is a period of time which has been tough for Blackburn where they look to officially secure promotion to Divison One.
