Match Report | Turner downs Univeristy Strollers

Blackburn enter the month of February off the back of 3 wins and 1 draw in the month of January. Although numbers were limited today due to injuries and suspensions the boys entered today’s game with the same mentality. Blackburn Pleasure Park welcomed University Strollers and the two sides battled it out on a calm but cold afternoon.
It was clear to see that Blackburn were to have the upper hand due to shear strength and experience overpowering the young University Stroller side. It was a case of not how but when would the first goal come for Blackburn.
A fantastic through ball through from STEWART in the middle of the park looped over the heads of the defenders in which TURNER strolled past and slotted it into the bottom corner. 1-0 Blackburn.

Half Time: Blackburn 1-0 University Strollers

The second half motive for Blackburn was the exact same as the first however being more clinical in front of goal was key. Two quick fire strikes from STEWART put Blackburn almost out of site as the home side entered the last 20 minutes at 3-0.
However some poor organisation throughout the team lead to University not only scoring one but two goals to take the tie back to 3-2.
Knowing fine well last weeks result it was key for Blackburn to hold on to all three points and it was a stunner from winger TURNER who’s shot smashed the top right leaving the keeper no chance. 4-2 Blackburn.

Full Time: Blackburn 4-2 University Strollers

Although Blackburn leave with all three points they can be disappointed with the score line.
