UNI. COLTS 2 BLACKBURN 1
AAFA Division 2 East

Balgownie Playing Fields
Blackburn was heading into this weeks fixture full of confidence but also under no illusions when faced with the task in hand. Travelling to Balgownie the players were fully aware of the challenge ahead with University Colts having only lost 2 games all season.
After successfully negotiating last weekend’s league tie against University Strollers, Johannes Jaka made one change as Blackburn returned to league action at Balgownie. Grant Lamb returned to the colours with Ryan Stewart unavailable for the game.
Blackburn began to start piecing things together as the first half wore on but were unable to create any meaningful chances and creative space was hard to come by in the final third. Yet it was Colts who were first to break the deadlock and fire the ball past on the on-rushing MCKAY.
HALF-TIME: UNI. COLTS 1 BLACKBURN 0
Blackburn made a quick start to the second half and kept pushing but Colts defended deep and in numbers, denying space through the final third. It was to be MILNE who would eventually find space within the box to drive a shot into the home goal for the much needed equaliser.
With ten minutes left of the match and Blackburn struggling to punish the opposition, it looked as if both teams would be leaving with a point, however it was the home team that proved that stats don’t lie when looking at the league table when they manufactured a chance with a cross that was deflected out for a corner which would ultimatelty lead to the winning goal for the hosts.
